Good afternoon,
I need to know what parameters, etc to change to establish CCP Communication with an ECM that has a CAN Address OTHER than zero. I have been working with a ECM in my office that has a CAN Address of zero and it works all day long so that works.
The ECM (in the field) will have a CAN Address = 241.
I tried setting the following variables to the following with no luck (in fact -- they really do not have any impact at all as when I set the ECM CAN Address to zero everything still worked).
CCP.Current_Station_Addr = 241
CCP.Station_Addr_Low = 240
CCP.Station_Addr_High = 245
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Re: CCP communication with an ECM w/ CAN Address=241
The CAN Station Address is a CCP parameter and is different from the CAN Address. The Station Address can be 0 and the CAN Address other than zero. That should be fine as long as the CAN Address is allowed.

Re: CCP communication with an ECM w/ CAN Address=241
Thanks for the reply. So this is dumb -- but where do I set (or how do I set) the ECM CAN Address (the device I am trying to communicate with via CCP) in Powervision??
1. If the ECM CAN Address is zero (0) -- CCP is successful.
2. If the ECM CAN Address is set to 241 -- CCP does not work.
I have set my Display to CAN Address of 248 (CANPort1.Address = 248).

Re: CCP communication with an ECM w/ CAN Address=241
It doesn't look like it is necessarily a PowerVision configuration that is the problem. I'm told that it is most likely an ECM configuration to allow CAN messages from the display. Is there an ECM configuration option to allow CAN messages from the display/controller at address 248?

Re: CCP communication with an ECM w/ CAN Address=241
I will check with the powers that be here. But just so you realize the two setups:
1. If ECM CAN Address = 0 / Display CAN Address = 248 ==> CCP works
2. If ECM CAN Address is set to 241 / Display CAN Address = 248 ==> CCP does not work
I have left the Display CAN address unchanged and set the ECM CAN Address to a different value. The display has to "know" what the CAN address of the ECM is (correct??) in order for the CCP function to execute. I don't know where this setting is located??

Can you get a CAN recording and private message it to me? Perhaps the problem is in the handshaking to establish a connection, or something.
