1. I want to be able to start/stop the transmission of J1939 messages, is this possible?
2. Is it possible to change the ID of a Freeform CAN message

Hello Hfluiter,
1. J1939 messages follow the tranmission rate in the J1939 database but you can send Free Form CAN messages using actions .
2. The Free Form CAN message's frame ID is fixed, what you can do is set up a similar Free Form CAN message with a different frame ID and send one or the other.
