Its been awhile since I needed to use Free Form CAN messages, and I recall a sort of 'strange' requirement but I am not sure it is still valid. There was a requirement that either on Tx or Rx (or maybe both) the first byte of a message could not be bit data - is this still true? If so, please clarify.
