I am trying to setup a serial device that doesn't use the Modbus protocol. I notice in the PowerVision Configuration Studio Core v2.7 that one of the choices is "None (Raw Serial)". I don't have this as an option and I haven't been able to find an example on previous forum posts as to how to set this up properly.
A little about what i'm trying to communicate with is with a RS422 device communicating at 250kb/sec. I noticed I'm only able to go up to 115kb/sec and i'm working with the customer to see if they can change this on the chipset (max3077eesa) that they use. It looks like it wont be possible and we will have to go another route. In the meantime trying to figure out serial ports and the Murphy display capabilities. Any samples of setting up messages on raw signals would be very helpful.
Again sorry if this has been answered in previous posts. The only post I saw about it was from 2012.

Re: Raw Serial
Hello kcampbell,
I'm sorry if that gave you hope for using the serial port for something other than MODBUS. The documentation is incorrect.
It was a planned feature that hasn't materialized. Maybe one of these days if there is enough interest.
I hope this hasn't caused a problem for you.
The J1939 ports have a FreeForm/raw message feature that is available.
