PV450 Stuck in "Booting" or "Autoloading" Screen

Post by CustomFP » Mon Mar 17, 2014 6:20 pm

Hi
After loading a configuration onto PV450 with PowerVision 2.1.102990(Release Build) using a usb to ethernet cable adapter I have been unable to get this PV450 out of either the "booting" screen or the "autoLoading" screen,

The issue started when after starting to load a configuration, the PV450 entered autoload screen and started to load the configuration as normal, however the load took a longer time to progress then normal and at the end of the load paused and remained in the auto-load screen in-defiantly. After approximately 10 minutes the screen had not changed and the PV450 was reset.

Now the PV450 will not get past the "booting..." screen in normal mode, and in Bootloader mode the PV450 opens start into the "Autoloader" Screen and starts to load a configuration even if no USB is attatched. The load process will always pause at the end and never finish.

Is there anyway of hard resetting the PV450 so I can program it with a correct configuration?

I'm afraid that configurations and firmware created from version 2.1 is not compatible with our latest boot loaders. From your picture it appears you have a new unit or a new boot loader installed on your 450. This boot loader was created about year ago and uses a new more reliable file format but unfortunately this file format isn't compatible with PowerVision versions older than 2.3.20000, our oldest supported version.

The easiest solution is probably to upgrade to 2.3. From there you may need to also reinstall the boot loader (available on this forum) before you can get up and running again.

As always, if you get completely stuck like this, feel free to contact our Tech Services group and they can usually help to get you going again.

Ah. Good That makes it easier.

It sounds like something is wrong with the config your installing. To test this out do the following

1. Open the blank configuration and switch it to 450.
2. Generate a "Full Install" and save it to a usb stick. Make sure you do a FULL install as the config/apps aren't compatible between versions.
3. Boot the display holding the bottom left corner. Select the arrows to pick your FULL install.

If that installs and works, you can go back and try your configuration again. If not, let me know and we can decide what to try next.

Sorry in the delay getting back to you.
We can not load a fresh configuration into the PV450 as it jumps straight into an Autoloader screen (show in pic) as soon as the controller is opened in bootloader mode. Once the progress bar reaches 100% the screen freezes.

I guess we were wondering if there was any "Safe Mode" or restore mode, where we can role the screen back to its initial setup. As we cant load config using either the bottom left button/usb or the LAN cable?

Thanks again for your help.

This type of problem is best handled by someone interacting with you one on one i think. You should give Tech Services a call and see if they can walk you through steps to rescue the display.
