PV750 USB Communication Error

Post by tshiii » Tue Nov 21, 2017 4:41 am

Hello,

Our customer tried to broadcast configuration from PC to PV750 by Plugable USB adapters, but it could not work. The PV750 could not be recognized on the PowerVision. The USB driver was installed successfully.

PowerVision: version 2.3

Could you advise what would be a problem and how to fix it?

Thank you,

Try loading a full install from a USB thumb drive from the version of PowerVision that you are using. Getting the display on the same version usually solves that problem. If that doesn't work, send me the brand and model of the USB adapters that you are using and we'll check with Tech Support and make sure they are the right ones.

Hello,

The brand of the USB adapter is "Plagable" which is the same with the ones including your programming kit for PV780 (I introduced it to them). They used to use the Monoprice USB adapter and it worked even though connection intermittence was happened sometimes. That is why they tried the Plagable's ones.

The customer also informed that a USB driver cannot be used (connected with any PC) due to company's security policy.

Do you have any other way?

Thank you,

If I ever have a problem getting PowerVision to connect to the display then I always just do a full install from a USB thumb drive. My original USB Ethernet adapters were the Monoprice ones. I now have the USB Plugable adapters model USB2-E100. They are reliable and I hardly ever experience any problems except when the display has a different PowerVision version installed than what I'm trying to connect with. But the USB Plugable adapters do require a device driver. On my computer it looks like ASIX AX88772 USB2.0 to Fast Ethernet Adapter. I talked to Tech Support and they gave me similar information. I don't know of another way, but I would start by loading a full install with PV2.3 with a USB thumb drive.
