About J1587 protocol
Can we use the PV750 with a engine with the J1587 Protocol?

Re: About J1587 protocol
Currently we do not specifically have support for J1587. J1939 is supposed to be a replacement for J1587 and J1708.
Perhaps some more detail on what you're trying to do would help. It might be that free form CAN packets can do what you need. How many parameters do you need to pull from the J1587 network?

Currently the PV750 does not support SAE J1587. However, the RS-485 port used for ModBus would support the J1708 physical layer needed for J1587. A user application could be developed to support this feature.

Re: About J1587 protocol
I have a frequent requests to display information that's only available on J1587/J1708 networks as well. If anybody explores this possibility further, I'm listening.

Re: About J1587 protocol
The easies solution is to use a J1587 to J1939 gateway. They are quite prevelent, considering the implementation of J1939 in trucking and the need for legacy compatibility. SAE J1939-01 shows examples of using gateways in this fasion.
