Booting Up

Post by jbilleter » Wed Feb 06, 2013 12:11 pm

Is there any way to actually remove the words "Booting..." on start-up? I have a customer whose application requires a start up in blackout mode (night mode with backlight off). I have set the backlight variable on start-up to be off. It seems like the backlight is still on for about the first 8 or 9 seconds and the words "Booting..." are displayed for about 4-5 seconds. After this, the backlight is off and everything is blacked out. One of the buttons is assigned to turn the backlight back on once the PV750 has been fully booted up. Is this a variable that can be changed in the configuration software to remove "Booting...", and if possible, start with the back light off during the booting process as well?

Unfortunately there is no way to start the display with the backlight off and skip the Booting... screen at this moment but we have added the requested feature for a future release.

The black-out booting screen is not a configuration option. At one time work was done to special build displays as a demonstration for a customer. Existing displays could not be changed but new displays could be built with no backlight on booting. This was not put into production so it is something that was developed but it would be a big job to make the product changes to build such a thing. There is no way to currently produce new displays like this and it is not a configuration option.
