Touch actions appear to expire after about 30-seconds. I used a touch widget to control a secondary machine axis from a common joystick and watched it revert back to the primary axis after about 30-seconds of holding the touch widget. Physical buttons do not seem to expire.
Can anybody confirm and define these limitations?
This was observed on Powervision 2.8.10546 with a PV780-Touch.

Re: Touchscreen action timeout
The software engineer commented that this is the expected behavior. The "timeout" is to prevent water on the screen from preventing the touch action. He also said that it is possible to move the finger slightly to prevent the timeout. I tried it but was not very good. The 30 seconds does seem to be the limitation.

Re: Touchscreen action timeout
Good to know. In this case, we need to be certain which axis the joystick has control of so the physical button and its tactile feedback is the way to go.
Thanks.
Thanks.
