Service Reminder
Dear Sir,
When program is uploaded to PV750, current remaining time is reset (to 0). If the remaining time needs to remain the same, how should I customize the program? For example, should I change an initial value of "ServRemTargetHours" in Programing to "current remaining time + engine operating hours"?
Please kindly let us know.
Best regards,
Shiii

Re: Service Reminder
Shiii,
I think you are on the right path. You need to intialize on power up. Are engine hours read via j1939? If so, you can use them with the service reminder settings to calculate remaining time.
If you are loading a new configuration, that is like reprogramming the unit, especially for variables specified in your configuration. So "current remaining time" if it is a variable in your configuration will be 0 on a new download.
Hope this helps.

Re: Service Reminder
Dear Brian,
I would like you to advise us the following matter on service reminder function on PV450.
1. The service reminder sould be displayed as pop-up. If an operator does not touch anythig on PV450, does the pop-up keep to be displayed?
2. How do we make the pop-up disappear?
Best regards,
Shiii

Re: Service Reminder
With the pv450 Murphy Standard Configuration the Service Reminders are a pop up when they happen.
They happen based on engine hours. If your engine hours are 0 and a service reminder is set to 100, the reminder will pop up after engine hours is greater than or equal to 100. If you reset the reminder it will pop up again after then next 100 hours.

Dear Brian,
Thank you for your attention.
I would like to make sure if the pop-up keeps displaying on the PV450 if an operator does not reset this. Is it correct?
Best regards,
Shiii

Re: Service Reminder
On the standard pv450 configuration if the user presses the hide button, the service reminder is cleared and does not come back. A service reminder will happen again after the reset is pressed in the service reminders menu and another interval of hours has passed.
I can understand why this would not be desired behavior in all conditions, but the service reminders do cover up some of the screen. If you want a different behavior, someone can use the PowerVision studio to modify the 450 Murphy Standard to pop up the warning again after some amount of time or a certain number of engine hours.
