1.) Version of Configuration Tool being used: 2.7.10419
2.) Model Number of Unit: PV380
3.) Operating System: Windows XP Service Pack 3
4.) Clear and accurate instructions so we may recreate and troubleshoot the issue:
While configuring PV380's (multiple units) in 2.7.10419 I have found that I am required to use Full Installs on each update.
It seems that the Application does not update correctly as this is where I am finding the missmatch.
The configuration studio reports the following:
Available: 2.7.10144
Installed: 2.7.10145
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated, as this extends update time dramatically.

Re: PV380 Application Version
Hi Hamsteh,
When the application version in the configuration tool is different from what is on the display, you will need to do a full install. This insures that the configuration is totally compatible with the application. After the first full install, the application versions will match and you should be able to proceed with just the configuration updates.
The full install is required so that inconsistencies between the configuration and the application are eliminated. Unfortunately, the added reliability comes at the cost of the time it takes for the full install.
We apologize for the inconvenience. It should just be the first time you use a particular version of the PowerVision configuration tool with a particular display.

1.) Version of Configuration Tool being used: 2.7.10419
2.) Model Number of Unit: PV380
3.) Operating System: Windows 8.1 Pro
I have the exact same problem as Hamsteh. I load a PV380 with a full install. I can turn right around and try to load the same configuration w/o any changes, and PowerVision will require me to create a full install.

Re: PV380 Application Version
Hi!
Before you attempt to load the configuration, look on the Configuration tab at the versions for Available and Installed. Do the App and OS versions match? Hamsteh's application versions didn't match so the full install was required.
I have been trying to recreate the problem using the 2.7.10419, but it works as expected with a PV300 or a PV350. I'm not sure what is going on. I will try to find a PV380 to verify it also, although display type shouldn't make a difference.
If you have more details, please let us know.
Thank you!

Re: PV380 Application Version
No, the versions are different (see attached screen shot). The Available App version = 2.7.10144/App Installed = 2.710145
Does that make sense?
Thanks,
Dan

Re: PV380 Application Version
Hi!
Yes, it does make sense now. Unfortunately, it will take a new release of PowerVision to fix the problem.
We have a patch planned, we don't have an exact date yet, but this issue should add some urgency to the release.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We certainly appreciate your help to make PowerVision a better tool.
Please continue to watch the forum for the patch 2 release of the PowerVision Configuration Studio.
