Murphy Standard PV780 Dual Engine Configuration

Post by SidJayasinghe » Fri Jun 20, 2014 2:40 am

Hi,

I am looking for a Murphy Standard Dual Engine (Ports A & B) Marine configuration which I can supply to a customer to get them going. We recently supplied 2x PV780 displays which have been installed in a dual engine marine application.

Is there an easy method to convert the HV750 configuration to suit a PV780?

There is a very short time to supply the configuration.

Regards

Hi Sid,

There is not an equivalent Murphy standard config for a PV780 with the dual engines for starboard and port, sadly.

Converting the 2.3 HV750 example config from the Standard and Example configs to be usable with a PV780 is possible with some effort. Quite a bit will import from PV750 since the screen size and number of buttons are the same.

A known issue is the 3rd CANport parameters for GPS that are on the PV750 will need to be added to one of the other CANports on the PV780. Any events, state machines or programming associated with the CANport 3 parameters may need to be re-established. The display gauges associated with the CANport 3 parameters will need to be associated with the new parameters.

The diagnostic message application changed from 2.3 to 2.6 and events are different.

Be sure to use the "Import" when opening the config for the first time in PowerVision 2.6 or PowerVision 2.7.

If you want to use PowerVision 2.7, you will need to first import to PowerVision 2.6 with the hardware reliability updates and save the HV750 config as a 2.6 configuration, then import the configuration into PowerVision 2.7 and save using your 2.7 version of PowerVision.

Let us know how it goes!
