It would be very helpful to me in many of my configurations if the DLC field of a free-form CAN message was available for determination of message length for variable length messages. The RTR bit would be useful as well, especially on outbound messages.

I would like to use the Murphy display to replace one or more of our current information display devices, but I need access to the DLC in order to determine whether 0x00 values that show up in the data bytes were sent by a CAN device or are being assigned to "unused" bytes in the free-form CAN message.
