J1939 Wheel Based Vehicle Speed not working
Hi Everybody!
I have a fwMurphy PV450 Display, programmed with PowerVision 2.3
Today was the first time we tested the display in a vehicle, and nearly everything worked fine.
We had Open Can Messages and some standard J1939 signals.
Unfortunately, the Wheel Based Vehicle Speed didn't work. Not with my setup, and not with the Standart fwMurphy Configuration in Powervision 2.3
I used the standard setup, which is already in the PowerVision software.
Can somebody help me, to get the speed working?
I attached screenshots, so you can see my config!
Thanks

Re: J1939 Wheel Based Vehicle Speed not working
It looks like you expect Wheel Based speed to be transimtted from a device at CAN address 3. So is there is a different device beside the engine transmitting Wheel Based speed parameter?

Re: J1939 Wheel Based Vehicle Speed not working
No I didn't expect that, it's just, what was in the standard config
RPM for example worked!
But it must be something with the address, because our ECU is getting a signal, but not the display
As you can see on the screen, we are just using CanPort1, but I am not sure, which address to take!
Hope that was helpful for you. If you have more questions, please let me know

Re: J1939 Wheel Based Vehicle Speed not working
I am not totally sure, what information you need actually.
We receive our signals from CANPort1
We have an ECU, which can read and use the Wheel Based Vehicle Speed.
But I am not familiar with that config.
I took CAN address 3 because it was there as default.
If you suggest a different address, please let me know
Oh, and for example the RPM worked

Re: J1939 Wheel Based Vehicle Speed not working
I noticed that the variable for the Text gauge was Calculated VehicleSpeed, yet the J1939 parameter was J1939.Transmission.Wheel Based Vehicle Speed. This may be your problem.

Oh that's a wrong screen shot
Beside the Wheel Based Vehicle Speed, I am calculating the vehicle based on the Output Shaft Speed and some other variables, but that's not working to, unfortunately

Re: J1939 Wheel Based Vehicle Speed not working
I would suggest adding the parameter to the engine device (at address 0) which is the ECU. Maybe the ECU is transmitting this parameter. Typically what we see is the use of a sendercan or XM500 that picks up these parameters and then translates them at a specific address and parameter into J1939.

Re: J1939 Wheel Based Vehicle Speed not working
I tested the vehicle today again, but nothing worked with the speed
I added the WBVS (Wheel Based Vehicle Speed) to the engine device, and still, nothing has changed, I also tried a few different addresses but no success.
But the Engine Speed is working perfect, that's whats funny
Oh and by the way, fuel level isn't working to.
Does anyone have further suggestions, how to get this working?

Re: J1939 Wheel Based Vehicle Speed not working
And as an additional information, we found out, that we have an extended frame (29-bit) for the Wheel Based Vehicle Speed
Does this mean, that I will have to create an Free Form Can Message or can I change the standard J1939 settings?
Beside that, can you tell me the settings for the Free Form Can Message to read Wheel Based Vehicle Speed?
Thanks
