Empowering Abilities: Enovation Controls Sponsors Inspiring Adaptive Waterski Clinic

Posted on: August 7th, 2024 by Kati Zumwalt

Enovation Controls recently sponsored the annual Adaptive Waterski Clinic at Ski Paradise Cleveland in Cleveland, Ohio. Our very own employees, Joe Guinter and Mike Loufman, have been enthusiastic participants in this event for many years.

Guinter shares, “We partnered with 3 Trackers of Ohio, a local organization dedicated to promoting adaptive recreational sports for individuals with various physical disabilities. We provide our facilities, boats, and volunteers, while 3 Trackers brings the specialized equipment and trained professionals to fit the participants to the waterskis. Participants range from

kids with special needs to local Armed Forces veterans to anyone impacted by a physical disability.” Loufman adds, “This year, we served over 20 participants with the help of approximately 40 volunteers over two days.”

Enovation Controls’ contribution covered the cost of an ADA-compliant port-a-potty and gas for the boats and jet skis.

Guinter continued “ We had numerous first timers this year as well as some returning friends. Some of the highlights from this years’ event includes Chris, who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident and now works as a prosthetic technician for a local company. He is pictured wakeboarding with a prosthetic leg he built for himself to test at the event. And Mason, who is a quadriplegic who attends with his family every year and is an inspiration to us all. He gets so excited to ski that he brings a smile to everyone at the event. Jackson was a first-time participant who was not content to just ride behind the boat, he immediately started going in and out of the wake and even jumping the wake on his very first-time skiing!  He had an absolute blast and begged us to go for a second run.”

We are immensely proud to support such an impactful event and look forward to continuing our partnership with this annual event. Together, we are committed to making a difference in the lives of individuals with physical disabilities through the joy and freedom of adaptive sports.
